English Harbour is located on the South of the island. It is a natural harbour and settlement best known for Nelson's Dockyard, a former British Navy base which consists of restored 18th and 19th-century buildings and other historical artefacts from the colonial period of the dockyard, when it was commanded by Horatio Nelson. It is a lively hub of restaurants and bars and is at the centre of boating and yachting activities.
Falmouth Harbour offers an array of activities to visitors taking them from the sea to the hills. During the winter months, the harbour is full of expensive yachts as pleasure sailors dock their boats here, making sailing and other sports that rely on boats like fishing and diving very popular here. Inland you can take advantage of several hiking trails along with numerous historic attractions in the area just waiting to be explored. Beaches in the Falmouth Harbour area are known for their calm waters, perfect for swimmers of all skill levels. However, due to their location being close to the cruise port terminal you will find that they are some of the most crowded beaches on the island.
Jolly Harbour is the perfect Caribbean holiday destination. It is a thriving resort village with a wide range of facilities within the gated community situated on Antigua’s famed west coast. Along with a variety of bars and restaurants, you will find an international supermarket, pharmacy, bank, souvenir shops, gym and sports centre, an Olympic sized swimming pool, tennis and squash courts and The Jolly Harbour Golf Club which has an 18-hole championship course. It is also home to some of the island’s most prized beaches, including Jolly Beach, one of the longest and widest beaches on the island, and a truly idyllic white sand beach lapped by the perfectly clear aquamarine Caribbean Sea.
